Simon's Valentine

We're not big on Valentine's Day in our household. More so because my husband refuses to buy into the commercialism but I really wouldn't mind roses or even a card! (He now knows to at least buy a card!!!) We did go out for ice cream but we used a coupon! And I purchased a card and a few little things for Simon, one of which were these awesome bath color fizzies! I now wish I would have bought more of them because he LOVED it!

FEBRUARY 14 was a BIG DAY!

As we all know February 14 is Valentine's Day. It was also the day that Simon turned 21 months so I felt the need to snap a few pictures! My mom, Simon and I actually headed to Philadelphia to spend V-Day with my sister and her kids and take a big trip to IKEA. It's free kid's lunch on Tuesdays so we always go to IKEA on a Tuesday!

I was the big purchaser at IKEA on V-Day as we got Simon a toddler bed and a bookshelf for our living room. We eliminated one of our home office rooms now that we are having another baby so the books had to move somewhere else. A future post will reveal the house changes! Anyway, I'm not planning to transition Simon to a toddler bed quite yet but at least we are set to go with the bed. I'm not sure I'm ready for him to have independence and get out of bed, especially with how much he fought his nap and bedtime tonight :(

The Baby Bump

Well figure I better post a few pictures of the big bump. Sadly these are the only 3 pictures I have taken so far of this pregnancy. It's true what they say - second time around does not require so many pictures! This is 15 weeks, 18 weeks and 24 weeks. I got to see our little blessing on a second ultrasound this week - she is a mover much like her brother was. I'm feeling pretty good these days, just some dull back pain which I attribute to lifting a 25 lb weight also known as Simon!

And I'm not sure why this picture keeps posting sideways but here is our little girl. We think her pictures look a lot like Simon did when we compare the ultrasounds!

The Funniest Moment of My Day

It's Simon's naptime and we are laying down to read some books. He starts rubbing my belly and in his sleepy speech says, "Baby sistuh." Then he proceeds to start rubbing my boob and says, "More baby sistuh." And I lost it. Made me laugh so hard and now I'm just wondering what he'll say when he sees me nursing in a few months!

What Happens in the Car

Today is Thursday. I did not leave my house since Sunday afternoon this week due to Simon being sick and then myself so we were definitely getting out today! I had my to-do list written out which included a stop at the bank, my eye doctor to pick up some contact solution and then the grocery store. The trip went so smoothly - Simon sometimes really impresses me with his behavior! Anyway, maybe it's because I haven't gotten out much this week but Simon said a few things along the way that I had to share.

First thing we pull into the bank drive-thru and he blurts out "french fries"! Fortunately the teller didn't hear him because we don't visit the golden arches THAT often!

Then we pull into the grocery store parking lot and I turn around to ask Simon where we are and that he's expected to behave and to be a helper to mommy to which he responds "church." I said "No, we're not at church. Where are we?" He said, "MOPS." Seriously?! At least he likes to go to church and MOPS!

A no picture sick update!

Well here it is February 1 already and we've had one snowfall (I don't count the freak snow storm on October 29)! Not that I'm complaining about the 62 degrees we had yesterday or the 58 today....I'll take this mild winter!
And now that it is February I can say this has been the sickest winter I've had in a long time! I've had stomach viruses twice in addition to numerous colds all while being pregnant which makes being sick so much worse (in my opinion). And of course two weeks ago I had to say to my sister "Simon is 20 months old and has never had an ear infection, vomitted or had diarrhea." Of course I jinxed myself because a week later we encountered the latter two of those! And of course he had to share it with me of which I got the virus much worse. I spent yesterday trying to recover and then Chris woke up this morning with the virus too.
All of this to say we are a sick household so I've been washing sheets, towels, clothes, Lysoling every surface I see, toys, etc. and will not be posting any pictures of us sickies because frankly we don't look very nice!
