Simon took his first sled ride around the backyard today! He was about as excited as he looks in the pictures - the kid was so serious! Of course he hates being confined in his bear suit and hates wearing hats (never enjoyed being swaddled as an infant) so that may explain the stern face. I had fun pulling him around, though! We have almost 10 inches of snow in the backyard - it looks so beautiful!

The Furminator
I love dogs. My black lab, Bernie, was my first baby. We adopted him from a shelter three months after we got married and moved to Seattle. We have some really great stories about Bernie and his separation anxiety but I will save those for another day. This post is all about the furminator. I think I should receive royalties for how many people I have convinced to buy the furminator...seriously!
I think I'm rambling now...I'm somewhat of a clean freak and as much as I love Bernie I hate his shedding hair just as much. I can only imagine how much dog hair I have eaten. If I didn't have a shedding dog I bet I would save so much money on vacuum bags (since they are 89% filled with dog hair) and time cleaning my house. At least the furminator helps a little bit - the shedding hair doesn't come out as fast!!
The moral? If you have a shedding dog or cat - you need a furminator! Check out Bernie's latest furminating session (thanks honey)! Gross, right?!

Football Sundays
For the last regular game of the season I decided Chris needed some company with some brown and orange. Simon didn't seem to mind how badly the Browns played against the Steelers (mommy's team)!
Looking forward to a Steelers Superbowl! Chris said he is going to wear gold so he is covered by whichever team wins!!

EIGHT MONTHS!
January 14th rolled right on by and we now have an 8-month-old. I just re-read my 7 month post and it is amazing how much more he developed in a few weeks time! No more army crawling - it's now FAST crawling on his hands and knees. And now he is pulling himself up on anything and everything - nothing is safe!!! He is even starting to stand on his own for a few seconds here and there. Simon is so curious and is constantly on the go (see the picture below). He can hardly sit still for a picture anymore! So much to do and see!
The crib mattress has been lowered as much as it can because Simon just loves to stand up in his crib. In fact he often hates to nap now because it's so much fun to just stand up! He's a fun little boy and his smile makes my heart melt!

Sometimes I Ask Myself Why
I work a full-time job. I keep a house together. I make dinner just about every night. I take the dog out and throw his ball. I am involved in my church. I play soccer once a week. Oh yea, and I am a wife and a mom. So I often find myself wondering with such a busy schedule why did I start a blog?! It's not like I have a ton of spare time.
Because it's fun. Because it gives me a little outlet to share my life. Because I secretly hope someone enjoys reading my blog as much I enjoy reading theirs. Because it's not as nosey as Facebook!
I have high hopes of figuring out how to make my blog prettier and how to post video. But until I have more spare time, this is it. This is me. And I will blog when I can!
Now, off to do the dinner dishes... see ya!
