We survived the first year! Simon had fun at his birthday party but he did cry a lot too! All of the people were overwhelming but it was worth it and he had fun when it counted (cake and the presents)! We have some great video footage of the cake which I will try to edit and post before too long.
I am an official stay-at-home-mom now and it couldn't have come at a better time. Simon is so much fun! He loves to be outside to throw Bernie's ball and play in the mulch. I'm hoping my flowers survive since they get trampled on a daily basis. His walking is turning to fast walking and we are now into the climbing stage. I love to hear his bare feet scamper across the floor! He loves to feed himself and is doing really well with his cow's milk in the sippy cup. He is sleeping a little over 11 hours a night and still taking two naps.
Simon rarely sits still which is evidenced by his weight at his one-year checkup. He weighed in at 20.3 lbs (15-20%) and 30 1/4" (50-60%). (He gained 11 ounces in 3 months!!!) While at the dr's office he was playing with his car and making "car vrooom" noises which really impressed the dr. She said he is developmentally advanced (which I already knew)! Seriously, we are so thankful for a healthy little boy who brings so many smiles to people's faces! The ladies at the grocery store love him :)
Oh and I wanted to mention he has 7 teeth and is obsessed with fans. Fan was one of the first words we signed with him and he has that one down!

Easter Egg Hunt!
My parent's church had a huge Easter Egg Hunt the weekend before Easter. The weather was cold and rainy but that didn't deter us! Simon was sleepy (as you can tell from the pictures) and wasn't very interested in picking up eggs but it was a very fun event. After the helicopter dropped even more eggs from the sky there was all sorts of fun activities for the kids inside.
